PEACE, A PILLAR OF WISDOM
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: Proverbs 8 – 10
Proverbs 9:1(KJV): Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Wisdom has pillars and these pillars are presented to us in James 3:17.
The Bible says, “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
Peace is a pillar of wisdom.
The scriptures speak of Solomon and his great wisdom that was admired by the great and the small and by kings and servants alike. One notable thing about the reign of Solomon is that “he had peace on all sides round about him.” (1 Kings 4:24). He was a wise man and this wisdom was demonstrated through his reign of peace.
In this life, you will have men that will bring wars to your doors and to your gates; some will launch unprovoked attacks on your ministry, business or career. As a child of wisdom, you ought to seek peace.
In Hebrews 12:14, the Bible says, “Pursue peace with all men.”
Every time critics sharpen their pens with glee, some quickly assemble their literary arsenal in preparation for an angry showdown.
Others are very quick to fight back because that is their only definition of strength.
God has called the wise to fight with a different set of weapons; we war with love by forgiving, by praying for those who revile us and sometimes by allowing our silence to speak because there are those who hear us even when we say nothing.
God’s name be praised.

🙌PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this Word. Thank You for Your great wisdom that is at work in my spirit. I know when to speak and when to keep silent. I know how to stand in the face of persecution. The pursuit of peace is the testimony of my life, to the glory of Your name, Amen.
