THE GODLY EMPLOYER
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: II Chronicles 8 – 9, 1 Kings 9 – 10
2 Chronicles 9:3-4 (AMPC) And when the queen of Sheba had seen Solomon’s wisdom, the house he had built, [4] The food of his table, the seating of his officials, the [standing at] attention of his servants, their apparel, his cupbearers also and their apparel, and his burnt offerings which he offered at the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.
God is concerned about how masters treat their servants. This is because any position of authority over another human being is a place of stewardship. Always remember that we are not stewards of only physical things but of people too.
We learn an interesting lesson from King Solomon.
In our theme Scripture, among the many things that amazed the Queen of Sheba was the apparel of the king’s servants.
Today, some employers do not care about how their workers dress. While it is understandably not your responsibility to change an employee’s wardrobe, you should demonstrate some concern.
For example, I have seen wealthy families dressed in the best clothes while the house help is dressed shabbily, and the rich family does not care.
God minds about such details too. But this extends to other areas of life. Some employers do not care about the health or even family life of those who work for them. They do not know and do not wish to know. It is Godly to show interest and have some input where you can offer support. Glory to God!

🙌PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. You are a God of details, and You have invited me to this same wisdom. I apply it to those who You have given me authority over, as a mark of righteous living. I treat them with love and care because this is good and acceptable in Your eyes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
