NEVER GIVE FEAR A PLACE
DAILY DEVOTION
Todays Bible Reading: Judges 4 – 7
Judges 7:3 (KJV): Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
Never ignore the power of fear—especially when it shows up among the people you lead or work with. In Gideon’s story, before God chose the final three hundred men, He gave this instruction: “Anyone who is afraid should go home.” And just like that, twenty two thousand men left.
Why did God do this? Because fear spreads fast, and it weakens everyone around it. The Lord knew that even one fearful voice could shake the courage of the whole army. So He let them go—not because they were bad people, but because fear among your own can be dangerous when you’re headed for victory.
But the thing is, fear isn’t always loud or obvious. Sometimes it hides. It can take the form of staying quiet when you should speak up. It can show up as shame, staying in your comfort zone, or not wanting to be seen with someone unpopular. For example, some people won’t join you when you’re preaching—not because they don’t agree, but because they’re scared of what others might say. Some won’t stand with you when you’re being attacked—not because they think you’re wrong, but because they’re afraid to be associated with you. Others won’t give or sacrifice for the sake of the gospel—not because they don’t love God, but because they’re afraid of losing something.
If you’re doing what God has called you to do—whether you’re preaching, serving or leading others, surround yourself with bold people. Walk with those who stay strong when things get hard, who speak up when it’s risky, and who keep standing when others give up.

⭐HIGHLIGHT: If you’re doing what God has called you to do—whether you’re preaching, serving or leading others, surround yourself with bold people. Walk with those who stay strong when things get hard, who speak up when it’s risky, and who keep standing when others give up.
🙌PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for this powerful reminder. Your Word says I haven’t received the spirit of fear, but of boldness. I choose to face life with courage and confidence. I walk with people who are brave and full of faith—those who won’t give up, back down, or walk away when things get tough. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
