DAILY DEVOTION
\nToday’s Bible Reading: Genesis 25: 1 – 26, 1 Chronicles 1: 28 – 34<\/p>\n
WITH LONG LIFE I WILL SATISFY YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n Genesis 25:8 AMPC Then Abraham’s spirit was released, and he died at a good (ample, full) old age, an old man, satisfied and satiated, and was gathered to his people.<\/p>\n We live in an age where men\u2019s consciences are more awakened to the fallen realm, and as a result, the length of their days keeps decreasing. What do I mean?<\/p>\n Tracing five generations from Adam: Adam lived 930 years, Seth 912, Enosh 905, Kenan 910, and Mahalalel 895 years. As men continued to live, their years became shorter. I asked God why, and He answered, \u201cTheir consciences became more awakened to the fallen realm.\u201d<\/p>\n Adam, even in his fallen state, did not know what cancer was. Even if it existed in his body, it could not kill him because he had no awareness of it. If you told Seth he had malaria, he would have asked, \u201cWhat is malaria?\u201d This lack of awareness of the fallen realm, and their deeper consciousness of God, kept them alive for hundreds of years.<\/p>\n In Revelation 2:24\u201325 (NLT), Jesus says: \u201cBut I also have a message for the rest of you in Thyatira who have not followed this false teaching (\u2018deeper truths,\u2019 as they call them\u2014depths of Satan, actually). I will ask nothing more of you except that you hold tightly to what you have until I come.\u201d<\/p>\n The church in Thyatira had fallen into false teachings described as \u201cthe depths of Satan.\u201d I love that the NLT uses the phrase \u2018deeper truths\u2019 because it exposes a mindset that still exists today, people who think that knowing the complicated, fallen, scientific names of diseases keeps them healthy.<\/p>\n But the wisdom of this world is always brought to nothing(1 Corinthians 3:19). Instead, invest in the Words of this life. Proverbs 4:22 tells us that the Word of God is medicine to our bodies\u2014it heals all diseases without side effects.<\/p>\n Choose to learn the depths of God\u2019s Word, not the depths of fallen wisdom. The depths of God\u2019s Word prolong your life; the depths of fallen wisdom shorten it.<\/p>\n \ud83d\udca1 KNOW MORE:<\/strong> Proverbs 4:22; Psalm 91:16<\/p>\n \u2b50 HIGHLIGHT:<\/strong> Choose to learn the depths of God\u2019s Word, not the depths of fallen wisdom. The depths of God\u2019s Word prolong your life; the depths of fallen wisdom shorten it.<\/p>\n \ud83d\ude4c PRAYER:<\/strong> Loving Father, I thank You for this Word. I choose a life built on the wisdom of Your Word, not the empty deceits of human understanding. I am healthy; by the stripes of Jesus, I was healed. With long life, You satisfy me. I will live a very long, fulfilled, and satisfied life, in Jesus\u2019 Name.
