PRAYER THAT BIRTHS REVIVAL
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: II Chronicles 7
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV); If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
There is no revival ever recorded in Church history that was birthed without prayer. Nations, continents and generations are transformed through the power of prayer.
The prayer that births revival does not seek from God, what His hand can give. It is not the kind that is focused on one’s family, friends and relatives; it does not pant after the things that money can buy.
Prayer that births revival seeks the face of God. God is doing something great in our times. We are set to be part of one of the greatest moves of the Spirit that this world has ever seen.
If you must be a part of that move, if you do not wish to be a mere spectator but an active participant, then you must learn to pray. In fact, if God has not yet moved as He should, it is because we have not yet prayed like we ought.
In this, we learn from men like Evan Roberts, the great Welsh revivalist who, in crying out to God for his land said, ‘Give me Wales or I die.’
The heart through which God revives asks for its nation, generation and for the generations to come. If you have been praying for only a few minutes of your day, I urge you by God to dedicate more time to prayer. If you have been praying for only an hour, by God’s grace, extend those to more hours. We must seek God, not as men who are hungering for revival but those that understand that it is already here. Hallelujah!
