FINDING PLEASURE IN HIS PRESENCE
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: Psalm 35 – 38
Psalm 36:8 (KJV): They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
Child of God, can you testify to the fact that you are a lover of the presence of God? Do you truly enjoy being with Him?
Many Christians cannot attest to the beauty of this experience because they do not know it. They sing songs about how they love God’s presence but some are always in a hurry to leave prayer time and attend to other pressing matters in their lives.
It is easier for many Christians to spend hours binge-watching Netflix shows than thirty minutes with God. They can pass time browsing TikTok and YouTube videos but the same amount of time can never be invested in communion with God.
But there is pleasure in the presence of God. This is more than a song, it is an experience to which God exposes your spirit. David calls it drinking from the river of His pleasures.
How can you be launched into the experience of pleasure in His presence?
The answer is to ask for it. Pray to the Lord to give you this experience. Before you know it, hours shall pass as you communion with Him and you will not even notice. You will long for solitude and the moments that you can be alone with Him because He is a source of pleasure indeed!

🙌PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. Thank You for the access that I have to Your presence. The Bible says that in Your presence is fullness of joy and at Your right hand are pleasures forever more. Today, I ask for the experience of the pleasure of Your presence. Launch me deeper in You. Cause me to hunger for You more than I have ever hungered before, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
