UNDERSTANDING THE MANDATE II
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 18 – 19
1 Samuel 16:13-15(KJV): Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah. But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
The heart of a man who received a mandate from God will submit to patterns that make him seem inferior.
This is wisdom and the only way the mandate will reconcile with the office.
This pattern has been demonstrated by the great men and women of the Bible.
David had to submit to Saul and obey him despite how he was treated because he needed to attract the office.
Even though God had anointed him as King, David still needed to humble himself before Saul for the kingly office to be passed on to him.
Jesus allowed John to baptize Him to “fulfil all righteousness.” He was greater than John in every sense of the word but still submitted Himself to a pattern that made Him look less in the eyes of men.
God wants to reconcile mandates with offices. CHOOSE TO PAY THE REQUIRED PRICE in humility.
Hallelujah!
