DARE TO ASK FOR MORE
DAILY DEVOTION
Today’s Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 2 – 4
1 Chronicles 4:10(NKJV): And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, ‘Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!’ So God granted him what he requested.
Jabez had a territory. He was not a man with nothing. He had something going for him, but he knew there was more. He dared to ask God to expand his influence, to bless him beyond his current capacity.
Many times, we settle because we have already attained a certain level of success. A minister with thousands of followers may think that is enough, but what if God has called them to reach nations? A business that impacts a local community may seem significant, but what if it has the potential to touch the world? A voice that inspires a nation might be powerful, but what if it is meant to awaken an entire continent?
Jabez teaches us that just because we have something does not mean we have all that God intends for us. He understood that divine expansion is possible, that God delights in His children asking for more. Prayers like those of Jabez gladden the heart of God. He is pleased when we seek to mine the depths of the potential He has placed in us, refusing to be limited by what we have already achieved. God is not finished with us yet.
Jabez’ story challenges us to never stop reaching for more of what God has in store. We should never assume we have reached our peak when God is still calling us higher. He is not limited by our circumstances, past successes, or personal doubts. If we trust Him and dare to ask, He is faithful to expand our reach beyond what we could ever imagine. Hallelujah!

🙌PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank You because You are a God of increase and expansion. Like Jabez, I refuse to settle for where I am today. I know that You have placed within me a greater potential than I have yet realized. Enlarge my territory—expand my influence, my capacity to serve, and my ability to fulfill Your divine assignment. Let Your hand be upon me, guiding me in every step. I trust that You will do exceedingly abundantly above all I ask or think. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
