OF RECEIVING GIFTS
Genesis 33:11 (KJV) Take, I pray thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it .
God does not expect you to receive from every hand. It is the lack of this wisdom that has destroyed many ministers of the gospel. They assume that every gift is for them to take regardless of who gives it to them.
When Esau sought a blessing in tears from his father after Jacob took his blessing, Isaac, his father, told him: (Genesis 27:40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; And it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, That thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.)
Indeed, he worked hard, repaired his ways (Genesis 33:9 And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.) Yet, in our theme verse, when Jacob insisted that he take some of his gifts, he accepted, signifying that he had not fully broken from his yoke. Why?
There is a spiritual principle that it is the greater who blesses the lesser, (Hebrews 7:7 ‘And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.) and Esau receiving the gifts of Jacob affirmed this principle in their life again.
In contrast, (2 Kings 5:15-16; And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant. But he said, As the Lord liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.) the man of God refused to take the gift.
There are people you should never receive from. You must know which gift to reject and which one to accept. Why? Some gifts come with blood on them. How discerning are you to know if the source of this gift is from the shedding of innocent blood which God hates? (Proverbs 6:17).
There are gifts that are meant to pervert your judgment, like Exodus 23:8 says. It may be given to you to promote an agenda that is against the will of God. Are you able to discern this and say no?
The devil may tempt you with the wrong gift from the wrong hands in the hardest of times, have the boldness to say no and trust God to take care of you. Hallelujah!

🙌PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this word. These are the things that keep me on the right path of destiny that I never offend God or man. I have the discernment to know what gifts to reject and which ones to accept and by this wisdom, my ministry and life are preserved, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
